Červená Lhota
Červená Lhota is a municipality and village in Třebíč District in the Vysočina Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 200 inhabitants. The beginnings of the village are related to the activity of the nearby Třebíč Monastery, which colonized the entire area around the present-day town of Třebíč. The first written mention of the village dates back to the year 1400.
The Church of Saint Lawrence was the church where many of our ancestors were baptized, including the Černíks and the Veselý family. The core of the building was built in the first third of the 13th century in the Romanesque style. Subsequently, it was apparently extended with Gothic and Renaissance additions. During the renovations of 1751, the western extension was raised by the belfry floor and a spiral staircase was built.
We didn’t have any prearranged visits with any relatives. However, this town was on our way and Mirek wanted us to see the church so many of our ancestors were members of.
